Do the Turnshoes Match the Bracelet?
Yes. Yes they do.
Molded Leather Spiral Bracelet:
Project Turnshoe. Enamored of my Vivobarefoot minimal shoes, and the comfort they have given my feet, legs, and back, I set out to make a custom pair of comfortable protective minimal shoes. Stumbling upon an ancient Scandinavian design, where the shoe is made inside out, before being stitched and turned right side out. My adaptation is that in addition to a leather insole, it also has a 3mm rubber outsole for a bit more wear in the streets.

Couture Corset
Requests have been coming in for fully custom corsets. Nothing could be more interesting, exploring all of the curves and radius of the human form.
It's a very complicated process: a ready-to-wear corset is made to averages that just don't really fit anyone perfectly. A bespoke piece begins with careful measurement and pattern making.
the handsewn beveled welts, form the "boning" and give the piece it's structure. Since it fits it's owner's form perfectly, it's softly rigid nature is comforting rather than constricting. I made this piece with a glazed finish; the reds and purples of the lining are actually undercoated in the exterior finish and will begin to show through the jet black burnished exterior finish. I expect this piece to "break in" in an exquisitely luxurious way...
I really love the molded ribcage detail formed by the piece that holds the bronze lacing rings in place. We will be doing more of this kind of work in the future....

Custom Work
(set of bespoke belts: black, natural, brown)
Perhaps 75% of my projects are custom, or have some elements done especially to suit the client. It can be frustrating when people see your work and say, "oh oh i love this piece--can you make it 6 inches longer and in blue?" I've made some Abominations against design following the whims of customers, but along the way have done some nice things as well, making all kinds of things that would've never occured to me make on my own. And in the process of inspiring some of my favorite pieces.

Cleaning Shop
I get melancholic during the cold months. My normal hubris hammered by the feeble holiday season, and some disasterous material orders. With what i most enjoy contented least...
The mess:
When this happens the muse can be a fickle friend, so cleaning the shop today. Cleaning out the bad clutter (which is like the bad cholesterol, I assume) and organizing the good clutter.
Odd hardware:
Taking stock of materials, honing and oiling tools, finding unfinished projects, nearly finished projects, past projects.
Plotting a future course. What else?

Small Handsewn Briefcase
I've been riffing on smaller briefcases lately. Small cases that could carry your iPad, or similarly sized notebook computer, or (gasp) an actual notebook.
This one is a dark cordovan brown with a green interior, featuring caligraphy from an opera aria I was working on.
The size is 11.5" wide by 10" high with a 2" deep poket width.
Hardwarebis solid brass:
There are several molded leather details, as above, where the leather is wet moldednto the ring and the case is molded to the strap keeper.
